Please read this page in its entirety to prepare for orientation. Before orientation, please follow these instructions:
- Complete your Starting at State and other orientation modules before your advising session.
- Clear all holds before you meet with an advisor or you will be unable to register for classes. The most common holds are Immunizations and the Student Financial Agreement hold.
- Watch this video before you meet with an advisor.
- Make a list of any incoming test or dual enrollment/college credit before you meet with an advisor.
- Familiarize yourself with Schedule Assistant to register for classes after you meet with your advisor.
- Take your ALEKS math placement exam as soon as possible, if applicable. You need the exam score to sign up for certain courses.
- If you have dual enrollment or ANY college credit for MAC 1105 College Algebra or above, you are not required to take the ALEKS exam.
- If you are anticipating ANY test credit for math, including AP, IB, or AICE, you will still be required to take the ALEKS exam. Test scores will not be available prior to the start of the semester and the ALEKS score will serve as a place holder to meet math requirements for science courses.
- Please note, family members have their own orientation session to attend and should not come to the advising session.
