Interest
We study the effects of sleep deprivation on mRNA processing in the rodent brain. Overall we are looking at how mRNA processing changes with sleep deprivation across a lifespan, and how that affects dendritic arborization, learning, and memory. My work takes a special interest in the alternative activity and expression of ribosomal associated proteins that may have implications in aging-related neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease.
